Class of 2028 Joins the Ranks
Rutgers School of Dental Medicine (RSDM) welcomes its newest class, the Class of 2028. This class has been one of the most competitive in the school’s history.
For the traditional DMD program, RSDM received a total of 3709 applications for 90 spots in the incoming class. Of those students, 53 are in-state and 37 out-of-state.
“We have seen a 13 percent increase in the total number of applications to the traditional DMD program,” said Associate Dean for Admissions Rosa Chaviano-Moran ’86. “We truly had an impressive cycle and competitive pool for our newest class.”
For the 2023-2024 cycle, the Office of Admissions saw a 30 percent increase in applications for the Internationally Educated DMD program. This program offers a special 27-month didactic and clinical program for internationally educated dentists.
In addition, 32 postgraduate residents will begin the advanced dental education programs.
“We have been seeing a growing interest for an RSDM education,” said Chaviano-Moran. “I think this reflects the school’s international and national reputation for its programs. We have a rigorous clinical program that trains students to be the best in their profession, and we try to create a welcoming and nurturing learning environment that attracts students from different corners of the world.”
