Internationally Educated DMD Program

Founded in 2007, Rutgers School of Dental Medicine's Internationally Educated DMD Program provides qualified dentists educated outside the United States and Canada with an opportunity to earn a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree and prepare for practice in the U.S. healthcare system. Unlike other dental schools, RSDM requires no bench test for candidates and boasts a 98 percent retention rate. 

The program begins with an intensive five-month orientation and integration curriculum that prepares students for success in RSDM's clinical and academic environment. Following this initial term, students join the traditional DMD class and complete the third and fourth years of the curriculum alongside their classmates. 

Designed for experienced dental professionals from around the world, the program emphasizes clinical excellence, cultural competence, and evidence-based care. Students benefit from a supportive learning community. Through this rigorous and collaborative program, graduates are well prepared to advance oral health, serve diverse patient populations, and advance health equity.
