The 2024 entering class (Class of 2028) had an average science GPA of 3.7, an average overall GPA of 3.7, an average DAT-Academic Average score of 22, and an average DAT-Total Science score of 22.

You are encouraged to take the exam no later than fall of the year prior to the year you intend to matriculate. Interviews cannot be granted until your DAT scores are received.

No. The RSDM Admissions Committee implements a "holistic file" review process when screening applications and selecting candidates.

RSDM participates in a centralized application service; Associated American Dental Schools Application Service (AADSAS). You must complete this application online.

All credentials (transcripts and letters of recommendation) must be sent directly to AADSAS. They are not to be sent to RSDM.

Yes, you must reapply through AADSAS and resubmit all required information.

Yes, we require both the Criminal Background and Disciplinary Action Disclosure forms be completed and results must be deemed favorable by RSDM.

Once your file is complete, it will be submitted to the admissions committee for review. If the committee selects you for an interview, you will be notified electronically.

Yes, there is a 14-story housing residence on campus. The building houses 463 students in 233 apartments. There are studios, one, two, and three bedroom models. Some have views of downtown Newark and the New York City skyline. There building has a security staff on duty 24/7 and has card access entry. There is parking in the adjacent deck, laundry facilities on each floor, an outdoor terrace on the 6th floor, and a quiet study lounge.
In addition, a significant number of RSDM students find housing in the many apartments located off-campus.

RSDM has established an advanced standing program for Internationally Educated dentists to earn a Doctor of Dental Medicine DMD degree.

The Office of Admissions will begin accepting applications between April 10, 2023, to October 13, 2023, for the class entering in the spring of the following year. It is strongly recommended that applications be submitted as early in the admissions cycle as possible.

Yes. All applicants must submit an official board score report, demonstrating the successful completion of both part I and II. An application will not be processed without this information.

Approximately thirty five (35) individuals are enrolled into the IED program each year.

Applicants are required to submit a notarized copy of their official dental school diploma as proof of receiving a dental degree.

No. The IED is open to all qualified international trained dentists.

No, however due to the competitive nature of the application process, applicants with stronger credentials are given preference in the selection process.
