Thursday Talks: Mark Ibrahim ’25

This Thursday, we are featuring Mark Ibrahim, a second-year student at RSDM’s traditional DMD program.

Tell us a bit about yourself and what brought you here.

Migrating from Egypt when I was a child was an extremely fearful experience. I felt that the language was different, the culture was foreign, and the life I knew was a distant memory. Speaking towards the millions of individuals that can relate, I aspire to utilize dentistry as a tool to service others and tear down any barriers of fear. As a second-year dental student, I’m eager to begin working with patients and work to help them regain control of their oral health.

Why RSDM?

I decided to attend RSDM because of its rigorous curriculum that produces such competent clinicians. In addition, the eagerness of the facility to help its students learn and succeed.

What do you like the most about RSDM?

RSDM’s capability to bear the responsibility of being the only dental school in New Jersey and still manage to stand as a pillar of quality healthcare.​​ RSDM has an impact that extends far beyond the city of Newark all while keeping a close personal connection with the hearts of the patients, faculty, and students.

What do you enjoy doing outside the school?

I love to spend time with family, play board games (Catan and Monopoly), and travel/hike.
