Administration
Cecile A. Feldman
Dean Feldman received her DMD from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, where she majored in Health Care Administration. She also received a Certificate in Advanced Education in General Dentistry. She joined RSDM as an Assistant Professor and later became a full Professor. Dean Feldman has been principal investigator on many research projects at RSDM, including a $11.7 million NIH study on combining ibuprofen and acetaminophen as an alternative to opioids.
Kim Fenesy
Dr. Fenesy received her DMD from School of Dental Medicine and her specialty certificate in Periodontics from Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine. She oversees Academic & Student Affairs; Admissions, Diversity & Inclusion, Support Services, Pre- & Postdoctoral Curriculums, as well as other programs at the school. At RBHS, she is on the Interprofessional Faculty Advisory Council and the Interprofessional Education Research and Evaluation Council, among other roles.
Michael Conte
Dr . Conte received his DMD from RSDM and completed his MPH at Rutgers. His responsibilities as head of the Office of Clinical Affairs include overseeing patient intake screening and Compliance Director of Infection Control and Environmental Safety. He also serves as Medical Director of RSDM and is an Associate Professor in the Department of Restorative Dentistry.
Narayanan Ramasubbu
Dr. Ramasubbu received his BS and MS from Madurai University in India and his Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from the Indian Institute of Science. He came to the Dental Research Center at Rutgers Biomedical Health Sciences in 1997 and joined the faculty of RSDM as an assistant professor, teaching biochemistry and biology. He became Associate Dean of Research in 2019.
Rosa Chaviano-Moran
Dr. Rosa Chaviano-Moran received her BA in Biology and Biological Sciences from Seton Hall University and her DMD from the Rutgers School of Dental Medicine. In 2000, she joined the faculty. In addition to her role as Associate Dean, she is a faculty member in the departments of Periodontics and Community Health and directs the school’s Internationally Educated DMD program.
Emily Sabato
Dr. Sabato obtained her MS, Ed, and EdD in Higher Education Administration from the University of Pennsylvania. She joined RSDM in 2011 as Registrar. In her role as Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs, Dr. Sabato oversees the management and implementation of the predoctoral curriculum and works closely with the Vice Dean to assist in the management of RSDM’s interprofessional education curriculum.
Janine Fredericks-Younger
Dr. Fredericks-Younger earned her BA in Biology from The Johns Hopkins University in 1995 and her DMD from Tufts University. Following graduation, she completed a General Practice Residency Program at Tufts. At RSDM, Dr. Fredericks-Younger is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Restorative Dentistry and serves as Chief Clinical Officer for the Opioid Analgesic Reduction study (OARS), an NIH-supported grant at RSDM.
Herminio Perez
Dr. Herminio Perez received his DMD from RSDM, his MBA in Healthcare Systems from Fairleigh Dickinson University, and his EdD in Leadership and Innovation from New York University. Dr. Perez, an Assistant Professor in the Restorative Dentistry Department, joined RSDM in 2008. Besides his academic and administrative responsibilities, he is a member of the Diversity Leadership Council at RBHS and co-chairs sections of the Antiracist Taskforce and the RBHS University-wide Diversity Strategic Planning Process.
Jill York
Dr. York received her BS from the University of Scranton and her Masters in Administrative Science from Fairleigh Dickinson University. She earned her DDS from Georgetown University. She joined RSDM as an assistant professor of Community Health and now is a full professor.
Nathalie Scarpa-Lota
Dr. Scarpa-Lota graduated from the University of South Carolina with a BS in Biology and received her DMD from RSDM. She joined the faculty in 2012 and served as Group Practice Administrator for six years before becoming Director of Clinics. As Assistant Dean for the Office of Clinical Affairs, she helps run all clinical operations at the dental school and is responsible for overseeing RSDM’s electronic patient data system.
Andrea West
Ms. West attained her BA in Economics from Syracuse University and her MBA from Fairleigh Dickenson University. She was Director of Development for New Jersey Dental School, now RSDM, before the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey merged with Rutgers University in 2013. In her role as COO, she oversees all aspects of human resources for the school. She also oversees billing operations, and marketing and public relations for RSDM and its faculty practice, Rutgers Health University Dental Associates.
Vincent A. Nacco
Mr. Nacco received his BA from Wagner College and came to RSDM in 2011 as Director of Finance. His responsibilities include all aspects of financial planning, reporting, accounting and controls.
Joan Liljegren
Ms. Liljegren earned her BS and MEd from Springfield College. As Director of Development, she partners with the dean, academic and volunteer leaderships on planned gifts and major gifts from corporations, foundations and individuals. She also works with faculty, staff, students, and alumni to initiate fundraising efforts.
Georgios Kotsakis
Dr. George Kotsakis is a board-certified periodontist and directs the NIH-funded Translational Periodontal Research Lab researching the biological mechanisms underlying peri-implant bone loss and developing novel treatments for dental and biomedical implants. Dr. Kotsakis has published over 100 peer-reviewed scientific articles and textbook chapters with more than 25,000 citations of his work.

Steven R. Singer
Dr. Singer received his DMD from the NYU College of Dentistry and joined RSDM in 2001 as an Associate Professor in the Department of Oral Radiology before becoming chair of the Department of Diagnostic Sciences. He is the course director for several oral radiology courses.
Craig Hirschberg
Dr. Hirschberg received a degree in Biology from the University of Cincinnati and his DDS from New York University. He became Chair of the Department of Endodontics in 2013 and is an Associate Professor within the department. Previously, he was an assistant professor at RSDM.
Vincent B. Ziccardi
Dr. Ziccardi received a BS in Chemistry from New York University. He earned his dental degree from Columbia University and his MD and certificate in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery from the University of Pittsburgh. After joining RSDM, he became director of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency program. In addition to his job as chair, he also serves as Chief of Dental Medicine at University Hospital. In addition, he holds a co-terminus position in the hospital’s Division of Plastic Surgery.
Thomas J. Cangialosi
Dr. Cangialosi received his BS in Natural Science from Fordham University and his DDS from Georgetown University before earning his Certificate in Orthodontics from Columbia University. He joined the RSDM Department of Orthodontics as Professor and Department Chair in 2012. In addition to that position, he also serves as director of three postgraduate courses, including the History of Orthodontics.
R. Glenn Rosivack
Dr. Rosivack graduated from Rutgers University-New Brunswick and received his DMD from RSDM. He completed his Pediatric Dentistry postdoctoral training at RSDM and attained an MS degree in Biodental Sciences from the RBHS Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences. He joined as a Clinical Professor. Among his duties as department chair is overseeing the Delta Dental of New Jersey Special Care Center for patients with disabilities. He is also a professor.
Andrew Sullivan
Dr. Andrew Sullivan graduated from Fairfield University with a BS in Biology and earned his DDS from the University of Maryland. He received his certificate in Periodontics from RSDM and began teaching here in 1974 as a Clinical Assistant Professor before becoming chair of the Department of Periodontics.
Steven Morgano
Dr. Morgano received his DMD degree from Tufts University and his certificate in Prosthodontics from the Hines Veterans Affairs Medical Center. In addition to his role as chair, he’s a professor in the Department of Restorative Dentistry and director of the Advanced Specialty Education Program. He joined RSDM as a professor and department chair.
Daniel Fine
Dr. Fine earned his BS from Queens College and his DMD from the University of Pennsylvania. He received his Certificate in Periodontology from New York University. He joined RSDM as a professor and Associate Dean of the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences and has a 30-year career in research, studying bacterium found in the oral cavity, including its links to systemic illness.
