ADEA Board of Directors Honors RSDM Associate Dean for Admissions

Dr. Rosa Chaviano-Moran RSDM Associate Dean for Admissions Rosa Chaviano-Moran will be honored by the American Dental Education Association for significant contributions to the organization’s mission during the 2021-22 academic year. Dr. Chaviano-Moran will receive a 2022 Chair of the ADEA Board of Directors Citation at the ADEA Annual Session & Exhibition in Philadelphia on March 20. Last fall, the ADEA honored RSDM for its LGBTQ student advocacy. Spearheaded by Chaviano-Moran and Dr. Herminio Perez, assistant dean of Student Affairs, Diversity & Inclusion, the initiative raised awareness of issues facing the LGBTQ community in dental academia and healthcare. Chaviano-Moran is past-president of the Hispanic Dental Association and a 1986 graduate of RSDM, then called New Jersey Dental School within the University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey.
