The Center for Temporomandibular Disorders and Orofacial Pain of Rutgers University School of Dental Medicine is dedicated to the relief of pain and suffering by providing treatment for patients with orofacial pain disorders, the training of health professionals in the diagnosis and management of complex orofacial pain problems, and performing research in the field of orofacial pain. Referrals

The Special Services Dental Clinic accepts referrals from all Departments and clinics at the School of Dentistry as well as external referrals. For referring dentists, please provide your patents with their most recent x-rays as well as any appropriate medical history.

  • Diagnosis and treatment of pain the face and mouth that may not be related to a condition of the teeth.

What To Bring To Your First Appointment

  • Photo ID
  • Insurance card
  • Copies of recent x-rays, if applicable

What To Expect

The first visit will be for an examination, imaging and to discuss the treatment plan. The clinic’s residents consult with attending RSDM faculty. Given the academic nature of the clinic, longer appointments may be necessary as compared to a private practice.

Office Information

Clinic hours are Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Closed from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM daily.
