Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS) at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine
Oral and maxillofacial surgeons care for patients of all ages who require surgical procedures ranging from tooth extractions and implants to complex cosmetic and trauma repairs.
At RSDM, simple surgical cases and extractions are treated by students and more complex cases are treated by residents. Both occur under the careful supervision of trained attending faculty members. Patients also have the option of being treated directly by faculty only at the school’s Faculty Practice.

If you are a referring provider, please call the appropriate number above. Records for patients being referred to the dental school can be sent to records@sdm.rutgers.edu with the patient’s Name and DOB. What To Expect
The first visit will be a consultation with an examination to determine the treatment plan. Treatment will generally start on the second appointment but may occur on the first in certain emergency cases.
