Thursday Talks: Rami Muadab

This Thursday, we are featuring Assistant Professor of Restorative Dentistry Rami Muadab, who has been teaching at RSDM since 2017. Read about his journey extending from Libya to Massachusetts to New Jersey.

Tell us a bit about yourself and what you do at RSDM.

Dr Rami Muadab

In 2004, I attended dental school in Benghazi, Libya. Following my graduation, I spent five years in private practice in the same city. Subsequently, I returned to the academic setting and taught for one year. During this time, I was fortunate to secure a scholarship that enabled me to further my postgraduate education. I embarked on a two-year fellowship at Tufts University, where I also pursued my master’s degree. In 2014, after successfully completing my fellowship, I commenced my prosthodontics residency at RSDM. Three years later, in 2017, I proudly concluded my prosthodontics residency. In 2020, I earned my DMD from RSDM’s internationally trained faculty program and started practicing in the faculty practice shortly after. I initiated my journey as an educator here at RSDM. Since then, I have remained dedicated to my teaching role, and I continue to be an integral part of the RSDM community!

I teach students in prosthodontics across both undergraduate and postgraduate clinics. Additionally, I’m also the course director for the Dental Anatomy and Occlusion course, guiding first-year dental students in this subject. Furthermore, I serve as the course director for the Restorative Lab Procedures course, catering to internationally educated dentists.

How long have you been here, and why did you decide to come to RSDM?

I have been part of the RSDM community for nearly nine years, encompassing my prosthodontics residency. My decision to join RSDM was motivated by its rigorous and challenging program.

What do you like the most about RSDM?

What truly stands out to me is the remarkable diversity at this school. It offers an enriching experience, bringing together individuals from various cultures, making it incredibly fascinating and engaging.

What do you enjoy doing outside the school?

I take pleasure in activities such as soccer, working out, and playing ping-pong. However, what I truly cherish is the precious moments spent with my family and children, savoring the quality time we share.
