Thursday Talks: Samar Sayah

Meet Samar Sayah, finance manager at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine (RSDM), this Thursday.

Tell us a bit about yourself and what you do here at RSDM.

I have a master’s in business administration and a bachelor’s in accounting. On March 1st, I hit 14 years in my career! I’m responsible for all the patient and student collections. I also do tuition and fee budgeting for students here at RSDM.

For how long have you been here, and why did you decide to come to RSDM?

I have been here at RSDM for nine and a half years. I used to be a university professor at DeVry University, and I taught accounting, economics, and statistics for a while. After some time, a position opened here at RSDM, and I was lucky to earn a full-time position as the finance manager.

What do you like the most about RSDM?

I like the way people interact here, especially in my department, as a family. We are connected like a team. I enjoy going to work and always look forward to coming here. I feel that I’m home!

What do you enjoy doing outside the school?

I’m an active church member and I also enjoy walking a lot. I like to stay home, cook, and spend time with my family.
