Tell us a bit about yourself and what you do here at RSDM.

I am a general dentist and the practice director of the faculty practice at New Brunswick. I am also an assistant professor at RSDM. I developed a course called Practice Management that I teach to the general practice residents (GPR).

For how long have you been here, and why did you decide to come to RSDM?

I am not originally from here; I was a general dentist in Nigeria before I came here and got my education at NYU to get my DDS. From there I went to RWJ University Hospital to do my general practice residency.

I have been with Rutgers for over 20 years but not with RSDM. I had my own private practice, and I was working as an associate for other private practices. So, I kind of worked in all areas of dentistry, except the military. Rutgers approached me to work at the faculty practice as a director and I accepted the offer; I wanted to be in an educational environment so when the opportunity presented itself, I took it!

What do you like the most about RSDM?

I like the fact that you can practice without any limitations. Every piece of equipment you might need is available or within reach. In an educational environment like Rutgers, you will keep learning and will be able to work with other professionals.

What do you enjoy doing outside the school?

Anyone that knows me knows that I am a mother first. I enjoy spending time with my children. I like going to the mall, and I love shopping! I love fashion and traveling. I also love reading; I am actually part of a book club! I also love taking long walks in the park. I love cooking. My favorite dish to cook is Nigerian jollof rice and stewed beef.
