Bio
I am a dual-trained clinician scientist, and my clinical interests focus on the management of implant complications and alveolar bone regenerative surgeries using evidence-based clinical and surgical strategies. My primary research focus is on translational research studies on the complex pathogenetic mechanisms of peri-implant inflammation and its prevention and therapy. I have led and participated in multi-center clinical trials in targeting bacterial, host, and environmental factors affecting healthy oral homeostasis. At Rutgers, I direct the RSDM Clinical Research Center that is funded by the NIH on translational efforts to examine the biological mechanisms underlying peri-implant bone loss and identify druggable targets for improving dental and biomedical implants success.
