My research interests include investigating molecular mechanisms contributing to neuropathic pain development and maintenance as well as sex-dimorphism of pain. I collaborate with a team of researchers to investigate the predictive value of exercise-induced hypoalgesia profile in rats on pain intensity inflicted by peripheral nerve injury. We use animal models of neuropathic pain to identify gene expression changes associated with neuropathic pain development and maintenance in male and female rats with the long-term goal of identifying molecular targets for mechanism based and more effective treatments for neuropathic pain.
