Oral biologist Daniel H. Fine and his team at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine have tracked more than 2,500 Newark children since 2007 to chart the progression of a rare form of gum disease that afflicts African-American adolescents. He recently received a $3.2 million grant from the NIH to continue his research.

  • Symposium 2015Register for Our Admissions Symposium
    Learn about attending RSDM and pursuing a career in dentistry at our annual School Admissions Symposium on April 23 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m in the dental school's Oral Health Pavilion. The event is for students in high school, college and graduate school, as well as parents, pre-health advisors, counselors and anyone interested in a dental career. We also encourage internationally educated dentists interested in an American dental degree to attend. Information will be presented on the profession of dentistry, the dental school admissions and application process, pre-dental programs, financial aid and other topics.   • RSDM Offers Forensic Course as Part of Continuing Dental Education
    After 9/11, RSDM Dr. Harry Zohn saw a dramatic shift in the field of forensic dentistry, once a crime-scene staple that’s now widely used in the aftermath of large-scale disasters. His course on how dental records can be used to provide valuable info is now part of RSDM's Continuing Dental Education program.
