NJDS becomes Rutgers School of Dental Medicine
On July 1, 2013, the New Jersey Medical and Health Sciences Education Restructuring Act went into effect, integrating Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, with all units of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (RBHS), including RBHS-New Jersey Dental School. As a result of the merger, our name has changed to Rutgers School of Dental Medicine (RSDM). We believe this reflects dentistry as a profession founded in biomedical science and more closely reflects today’s dental education and practice.
The establishment of Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences, of which RSDM is a part, has made Rutgers one of America’s largest, most comprehensive university-based centers for studying and improving human health and health care.
Resources are available for faculty and staff members as integration activities continue through the 2013-2014 academic year. View the Quick Guide here (PDF), and view the online Working Together Faculty and Staff Guide here (ebook).
