Unless granted a formal leave of absence, students enrolled at RSDM are required to register each academic year until the degree is awarded.  Registration for any academic year is not completed until tuition and all required fees have been paid and all requirements for immunizations have been met.  All students must comply with University bylaws, policies and procedures while enrolled in the School.  Students requiring a leave of absence must apply in writing and meet with the Director of Student Affairs, Diversity & Inclusion.

Transcript Requests

Current Students & Alumni
All Currently enrolled students and alumni can submit a transcript request online at https://transcripts.rutgers.edu/transcripts/index.html  under Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences (Formerly UMDNJ) Students.  All financial obligations must be met before any transcript is released. Please allow 3-5 business days for transcript processing.

Only RSDM transcripts may be released to outside institutions or individuals.  Non-RSDM transcripts received as part of the application process remain the property of RSDM and are never released to the student or other outside institutions or individuals.  Those seeking to send non-RSDM transcripts to a third-party must send their request for a transcript to the original institution.  However, students do retain the right to view these records.

Requests faxed by 3rd parties to the RSDM Registrar's Office will be forwarded to the National Student Clearinghouse to be processed.

State Licensure Form Completion

State licensure forms to that require a Registrar or Dean’s signature should be mailed or faxed to the Registrar's Office. Please be sure to complete the personal information on the licensure form as required by the state before faxing the form to the Registrar.

Student Residency for Tuition Purposes

The Rutgers University policy on residency for tuition purposes is governed by New Jersey Administrative Code. Qualified non-residents may be eligible for the in-state tuition rate.

Student Residency Application Submission Information

New Students

Students enrolled in the School of Dental Medicine who are in their first semester only should submit the application to the:

Tuition and Fees

The amount of tuition and fees as well as the type of fees are subject to change without notice.  A deferred payment plan may be arranged with the Office of Administration and Finance.  Although the Rutgers School of Dental Medicine is on an academic trimester calendar, tuition and fees are assessed on a semester (twice a year) basis.

Graduation Ceremonies

Information on how to order Cap & Gown will be provided several weeks prior to the ceremonies. All graduates are required to wear cap & gown to both the Commencement and Convocation ceremonies.

Rutgers Commencement. Rutgers School of Dental Medicine participates in the University-wide Commencement ceremonies held at Rutgers High Point Solutions Stadium in Piscataway, NJ in May. All information about the University Commencement ceremony can be found online.

RSDM Convocation. Rutgers School of Dental Medicine hosts a formal Convocation for graduates and their families. Graduates and faculty participate in an academic procession and recession; academic awards are distributed, and graduates are hooded. University officials and representatives from various dental organizations are in attendance to honor the graduates

Tickets for convocation are required for all family and friends (including infants and children) and they each must have a ticket to enter NJPAC. Students will receive information about requesting Convocation tickets from the Office of Student Affairs.

RSDM students will be informed when additional RSDM Convocation instructions are available by the Office of Student Affairs several weeks prior to the ceremony.

FERPA

In accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA) and its subsequent amendments, RSDM students have the right to review, inspect, and challenge the accuracy of certain information kept in a cumulative file by the schools in which they are enrolled, unless the student waives this right.  The entire policy may be reviewed at here
